I went around London with my camera looking for random things that inspire me. I looked at different buildings, their shapes and colors. I found some really nice and eye-catching buildings.
This building is close to Barbican tube station. It was quite eye catching as the whole area seemed very dull to me. There is hardly any colour in this area. Therefore, this building really stands out although its not that colourful.
I loved the lifts. They are made of glass and yellow pipes. Must be a fantastic view from the 12th storey.
This building was also in the same area. The shape of the building somehow reminded me of a honeycomb. I liked the shape which is unusual for a building and therefore took a picture. I am fascinated by buildings that don't just look like a block of concrete with their square shape. I love buildings that have unusual and/or asymmetric shapes and bright colours. I am also very fascinated by buildings that have glass facades.
This was at the Museum of London. The room had graphics on all walls, the ceiling and the floor. The graphic was a map of London. I really liked this idea and thought it was a good inspiration. At the end of the day, I thought that it was a quite good idea to travel around London to look for inspiring buildings, shapes, etc.
It is always good to have inspiration to look at when thinking of new ideas for project. And having primary resources is even better than just looking for images/inspiration (secondary resources) on the internet.
This photograph was taken at North Greenwich Station. The structure of this installation/shelter also reminded me of a honeycomb. I really like the wooden structure that is made of hundreds of small hexagons. They also look like stars. Unfortunately, there was no access to the structure. It would have been interesting to see what is inside the structure.
