Art on the Underground

On my way to Central London, I saw an art work on the Underground station at the Gloucester Road. It was so amazing that I had to get off the train to take pictures of it.

Big Ben [2012]

Gloucester Road Tube Station

I did some research on the design and learnt that the artist was inspired by Big Ben. She took the structure of it as a starting point. This work was developed from her painting that she created for an official London 2012 Paralympic poster.
The geometrical shapes and bright colours are eye-catching and very inspiring to me. The colour combinations in each image are just perfect. They create a very energetic and a lively atmosphere.

In short: I just LOVE this work.

This is an image that I saw at the Elephant & Castle tube station.

First, I didn't know what it was about but it still made me stop and look at it because it is very colourful. Later, I did a research about it and found out that it was part of a competition by the CBS OUTDOOR.
75 Tube station names and DLR station names are hidden in this image.
I find this image fantastic because its firstly, eye-catching and secondly, it has represented the stations in a very innovative and sometimes funny way. This way, I quite enjoyed guessing the names of the stations.
