Work Experience (Part1)

On Saturday, the 1st September, I started my work experience at "Cancer Research UK" in East Sheen.

Cancer Research UK is the world's largest independent organisation dedicated to cancer research. This organisation was formed in 2002 as a result of a merger between the UK's two leading cancer research organisations: the Cancer Research Campaign and Imperial Cancer Research Fund.

First, I was introduced to Health & Safety matters. The manager showed me the stock room and explained what activities were done in which places e.g processing donations, labelling and pricing, culling etc. I had a look around the shop to see what products they sell and where they are placed etc. As for the products, all products are donated by people/customers. They have been checked by the staff for their condition before they go out to the shop. The products can be women's and men's clothing, accessories, shoes, books, furniture, electronics, homewares and children's clothing as well as toys etc. Well, basically everything!
